A Season of Sport for
Every Young Athlete
Whether your child dreams of a game-winning goal or simply wants to get stronger and make friends, Kyd Sports Canada has a program built for them. Our coaches come from hockey and multi-sport backgrounds, and each one is certified, background-checked, and trained in positive youth development. We keep lanes small enough that every player is known by name, and we measure success by the number of athletes who leave each session smiling.
Our Core Programs
Each service below is led by certified coaches and run in safe, well-maintained facilities across the Markham area.
Learn-to-Skate Programs
Our beginner skate track welcomes children from age four upward, breaking ice skills into tiny, achievable steps. Small groups rotate through balance, glide, stop, and turn stations under the watch of patient coaches. Each session begins with a gentle warm-up and ends with a fun game so kids leave smiling and eager to return. Rental skates and helmets are available on site for newcomers, so families can try the sport before investing in their own gear. Our coaches also welcome adult beginners, making it easy for parents to learn right alongside their children.
Youth Hockey Leagues
Our house and select leagues run full fall, winter, and spring seasons with weekly practices and games. Balanced teams, even ice time, and a firm fair-play code ensure development always comes before the scoreboard. Players are divided by age and ability, and a mid-season reassessment adjusts lines so everyone continues to be challenged. Families receive a full season calendar at enrollment, and our game-night announcers celebrate effort and sportsmanship as warmly as goals.
Multi-Sport Camps
During school breaks we run day camps that mix hockey, soccer, basketball, and fitness into one energetic week. Kids build coordination, learn to work as a team, and stay active from morning to afternoon. Each day follows a reliable rhythm of warm-up, skill stations, small-sided games, lunch, and a afternoon tournament. Campers move between sports so no one grows bored, and counselors group children by age so activities are always age appropriate.
Skill Development Clinics
Six-week clinics zero in on skating mechanics, shooting power, and puck control. With a low coach-to-player ratio, each athlete receives plenty of individual feedback and near-total practice repetition. Video sessions let players see their own forms side by side with model examples, turning abstract corrections into clear habits. A final skills challenge gives families a friendly benchmark of progress, and every participant takes home a written coach report.
Tournament Teams
Our tournament squads represent Kyd Sports Canada at regional showcases. Selection rewards attitude and effort as much as results, and travel is organized so every family knows the full plan in advance. Team managers book clean, family-friendly hotels and keep parents updated with a simple itinerary. Players gain the thrill of competing in new arenas while our coaches reinforce the message that character and preparation matter more than any single result.
Facility Rentals and Community Events
Between programs we open our ice and field times to community groups, schools, and local clubs. From birthday skate parties to corporate fun days, we help you host a safe, memorable event with all equipment provided. Our events team handles music, refereeing, decorations, and even a custom scoreboard display for your group name. We also partner with local schools on after-school programs, bringing our coaching into the community all year round.
How a season comes together, step by step. Families register online or in person, and our office confirms your space and answers any questions. A short evaluation skate or field session helps us group players by age and ability so everyone is challenged but never overwhelmed. From there we publish a clear schedule of practices, games, and camps well ahead of time. As the season unfolds, our staff send friendly reminders, celebrate milestones, and keep communication open with every family.
